Beading On A Budget How To Torch Oxidize Copper

Jewelers Block

With July starting and what I am sure will be a beautiful summer comming I am at a loss for creativity. I have come to a sudden hault on jewelry design ideas and in a bit of a tizzy. Here is what I did

I went to the store picked up a big Chocolate Chip Cookie and other much needed household goods. On my way to the checkout line I picked up all the big Magazines like Cosmo,People,Life,Ebony,Essence,Stars,Good Housekeeping,The Sun. Why you ask? Well I wanted to see what colors and styles are hot with the models and Stars this season. I and glad to say this paid off!Not only did I get some really great reading but an eyefull of great colors and a huge spark in creativity. I am back and I am happy. Hope to see an of you Illinios folk at the Braidwood Summer Fest on July 17th &18th from 9am-?.

Summer Style/Trends for Beading

Summer is approching fast, in fact with the weather being in the 80's & 90's here in Chicago I would say it is here. This brings me to think about summer styles & trends. What are the hot and in color for jewelry this season? I have done some research on this and found brights and neons as well as white & Copper are hot at this moment. The "handmade look" is a big hit now, I have customers wanting handforged clasp more now than ever. Just 3 days ago there was a request for a large handstamped clasp with the letter "L" on it and then a gentlemen wanted the date him & his wife met stamped on a clasp. With all that being said think of the possabilities of different clasps, add them in the front of your design as a hidden clasp, make them bold & big, give them a high polish finish. Send your pictures of a finished piece to us at designsbydestiny10@yahoo.com and we will pick ONE to be featured here and on our facebook page, you will also win $10.00 of beads/supplies from our shop!Deadline is June 30th 2010!
